what do we do to get off of the wheel?
hamsters running in place
following the american dream
unfulfilled
hungry
tired
we patiently wait
but do nothing
expecting
something.
we form shallow relationships
with other empty shells
united in apathy
bonded by distraction.
because we all know that monday morning
brings us back to our wheels again.
